Another great month of trying new restaurants!
The Waverly Inn - You're not allowed to take photos, and you have to email/ text/ walk-in for a reservation. The small restaurant is cozy and beautiful, the food is not the most innovative however good, but this restaurant is more for the scene. Supposedly, a lot of celebrities and famous people frequent this restaurant. Our group of four had four appetizers, five entrees, and we were all very happy at the end. Loved the beet salad, foie gras terrine, chicken pot pie, and braised rabbit pappardelle.
Colicchio & Sons - love the interior design, well dressed crowd in the Meat Packing District, reservation highly recommended! We did not make one, but luckily was able to find seats at the bar, the restaurant was packed! Dinner was great, and so is the beer selection on tap; I would love to go back and try the tasting menu.
Oriental Garden - went for dim sum. Overall, everything tasted better than Jing Fong which is on the same street. I spotted Anita Lo from Top Chef Masters sitting at the table next to us, I don't think anyone else knew who she was.
Highlands - great tasting gastropub fare. Love the interior, goes perfectly with the British gastropub theme.
Flex Mussels - this restaurant has an excellent selection of fresh oysters on a half shell, moules frites - from the classic white wine to different flavor profiles, and donuts for dessert!
Land - nothing fancy, just good Thai food in the Upper East Side. I love green curry, and Land made it perfectly - I always request it mild.
Peri Ela - charming little Turkish restaurant. Food was good, friendly service, I think the hummus was the best I've ever had. A lot of lamb dishes, which was fine with me - I eat pretty much everything :)
No wonder the weekends go by so quickly...
