Objects: Fornasetti Heaven

Piero Fornasetti - Italian artist/ designer, created more than 11,000 objects, many featuring variations of the face of an opera singer. It started when he found her face in a 19th century magazine, and never stopped. Can you imagine living life, and one day coming across your face, on hundreds of objects? I'm sure there is more to that story, but I'll just leave it at that - it just seems like such a grand surprise.

"Teme e Variazioni" (theme and variation) plate series - more than 350 in this series.

Very, very interesting... and there are so many more!  From umbrellas, to lamps, china, and all sorts of household objects, all done with his signature black and white.  I just can't get over the fact that he did over 350 variations of the same face!  Can you imagine 350 variations of your face for the sake of art?
