Flea Market Finds: Vintage Armchair

I love going to flea markets!  I've always gone by myself so I can whiz through the junky stands and take my time with the fun stuff.  In California, I've been to the Rose Bowl Flea Market, Melrose Trading Post, and a couple of others held at local high schools and colleges.  I always have good luck at the Rose Bowl Flea Market, the others, not so much...  I take my finds to my local vendors to fix up according to my specifications.

Before

Ugly green crush velvet fabric, worn out, in need of refinishing.

After

Durable 50,000 Wyzenbeek rub tested grey velvet fabric, less tufting, completely reupholstered with new fill, refinished, and a little kidney pillow for comfort.

It's a lot of fun!  If you see something at a local flea market or listing, don't be afraid to dream up something from it!  As long as it's structurally solid, you can create something beautiful at a better price than buying something brand new.  Plus, it's one less chair in the land fill...
